KARACHI – In a major crackdown against international drug trafficking, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has recovered approximately 41 kilograms of cocaine from containers arriving at the Karachi Port.
The Operation The successful raid was conducted by the ANF Port Control Unit (PCU) at the South Asian Port Terminal (SAPT). Acting on intelligence, officials intercepted three containers declared to be carrying iron re-meltable scrap originating from South America. This latest recovery is being hailed as a major blow to international smuggling syndicates.
Key Details The total seizure consists of roughly 41 kilograms of cocaine found at the South Asian Port Terminal (SAPT). The narcotics were meticulously hidden within shipments of iron scrap. This operation marks another significant achievement for the PCU in securing the country’s maritime borders.
Increased Surveillance This operation follows a pattern of high-profile seizures at the port. In December 2025, ANF officials recovered 47kg of cocaine at the South Asia Pakistan Container Terminal. Following that incident, the ANF has significantly tightened its inspection protocols for all scrap metal containers arriving from South American routes to curb the influx of illicit substances.
