KARACHI: The Sindh Government has decided to grant permission to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to organize a public gathering at Bagh-e-Jinnah (Jinnah Ground) in Karachi.
Provincial Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah stated that the government welcomes political activities and is prepared to receive the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) in Sindh. He emphasized that no peaceful political struggle by any party, including PTI, will be obstructed.
Permission and Venue
According to the minister, PTI leadership had requested permission for rallies in various locations, including Korangi and South districts. “The request for a rally at Bagh-e-Jinnah is being granted,” Nasir Shah confirmed, adding that dialogue with PTI leadership is currently underway to finalize the arrangements.
Terms and Conditions
While affirming the right to political assembly, Nasir Shah issued a few caveats:
- Rule of Law: Problems could arise if there is any violation of the law during political activities.
- Peaceful Struggle: The government is committed to facilitating any party that remains peaceful and follows legal protocols.
- Openness to Dialogue: The provincial administration is in contact with PTI representatives to ensure the event proceeds according to the law.
Minister Shah reiterated that as long as the activities do not disrupt public order, there is no restriction on holding political rallies in the province.
