KARACHI: A 12-year-old boy from Khuzdar, Balochistan, who suffered a life-threatening gunshot wound directly to his heart, has made a miraculous recovery and been successfully discharged from the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) in Karachi. Admitted in a critical condition a month ago, the young patient underwent a delicate and complex two-hour surgery where a specialized pediatric cardiac team, led by Professor Sohail Khan Bangash, successfully extracted the bullet embedded in his heart. This remarkable medical milestone underscores the advanced pediatric cardiac care and life-saving facilities provided at NICVD with the vital support of the Government of Sindh.
