KARACHI: In the ongoing investigation into the murder of Mir Raza Ali, the founder of Wafflix and a resident of PECHS, Karachi, significant breakthroughs have emerged regarding both the forensic evidence and digital tracking. According to the preliminary post-mortem report and Police Surgeon Dr. Sumia Syed, the victim sustained a single gunshot wound to the chest that exited through his back, causing catastrophic damage to his heart and lungs. The official report indicates that death resulted from excessive internal bleeding and subsequent organ failure, with the body estimated to be 24 to 36 hours old at the time of examination. Notably, the medical examination confirmed no signs of physical torture or burns on the body.
In a major technological breakthrough for the investigation, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) technical team successfully cracked the password and recovered vital data from Mir Raza’s digital smartwatch (Apple Watch). The victim had left the watch at home on the night of July 27 before booking an online taxi to Gulistan-e-Johar. The recovered data from the smartwatch has provided investigators with critical leads, including financial and transaction details, although law enforcement agencies are still working to unlock and decode his iPhone.
