KARACHI: The Special Security Unit (SSU) SWAT team of Sindh Police showcased exceptional tactical prowess on the second day of the UAE SWAT Challenge 2026, successfully outpacing their traditional rivals, India, in the high-stakes Hostage Rescue event.
According to an SSU spokesperson, the Pakistani commandos completed the rigorous challenge in a remarkable 1 minute and 15 seconds. In comparison, India’s National Security Guard (NSG) team finished the same task in 1 minute and 29 seconds, giving Pakistan a clear lead in performance and speed.
DIG Security and Emergency Services Division, Dr. Maqsood Ahmed, lauded the team for their achievement, stating that the officers demonstrated a high level of professional expertise, agility, and seamless teamwork on an international stage.
The UAE SWAT Challenge 2026, organized by the Dubai Police, is running until February 11 and is widely regarded as one of the world’s most difficult and prestigious tactical competitions. This year’s event features 118 elite SWAT teams from 52 countries. Representing Pakistan in this global arena are the specialized units from both Sindh Police (SSU) and Punjab Police, competing against the world’s top-tier tactical forces.
