KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted a gradual increase in temperature for the port city, signaling an end to the recent cold wave. According to details, the PMD stated that the intensity of the cold weather in Karachi has started to diminish. Residents should expect warmer days ahead as the mercury is likely to rise in the coming days.
Regional Weather Outlook
While Karachi prepares for a temperature hike, other parts of the country remain under the grip of severe weather. Upper regions including Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan will continue to experience freezing winds, with light rain and snowfall expected over the mountains. Meanwhile, light rain is anticipated in Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, and Pishin. Most other parts of the country, including Lahore, Islamabad, and Peshawar, are expected to remain cold and dry. The Met Office confirms that while the provincial capital of Sindh sees a shift, the northern and western belts of Pakistan will maintain their wintry conditions for now.
