KARACHI: Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has stated that the hearts of the Pakistani people beat in unison with their Kashmiri brothers and sisters, emphasizing that Pakistan stands shoulder to shoulder with them in their quest for self-determination. In his message on Kashmir Solidarity Day, the PPP Chairman highlighted that despite seven decades of Indian state-sponsored atrocities and grave human rights violations in Occupied Kashmir, the spirit of the Kashmiri people remains indomitable and their struggle for freedom remains resilient against all odds.
Bilawal Bhutto noted that Indian brutality has failed to weaken the legitimate movement for self-determination, asserting that no power in the world can stop the people of Occupied Kashmir from achieving their destiny. He recalled that the vision of Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was carried forward by Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, who officially declared February 5th as Kashmir Solidarity Day during her tenure to give a new dimension to the cause and pay tribute to the martyrs.
The Chairman further criticized the international community’s persistent apathy, stating that the silence of world powers exposes a significant gap between democratic values and practical actions. He urged the global community to fulfill its moral and legal obligations by ensuring the protection of fundamental rights in Kashmir as per UN resolutions and international law. He concluded by reaffirming that the PPP stands with the Kashmiri people with unwavering commitment and will continue to be their voice on every international forum until they achieve freedom, dignity, and justice.
