KARACHI: In a major move under the Karachi Safe City Project, the Sindh Police has blacklisted 40,000 vehicles across the metropolis. A full-scale crackdown against these vehicles is scheduled to commence on July 1.
According to police authorities, the blacklisted vehicles primarily include those that have been sold but whose ownership has not yet been officially transferred to the new buyers.
Reasons for Blacklisting: The blacklisted list includes vehicles still running under the previous owner’s name post-sale, vehicles with missing or faulty registration data, and those with non-payment of official government taxes and dues.
Sindh Police confirmed that the compilation of the blacklist is complete. Authorities warned that non-compliant vehicles could face immediate seizure, and heavy fines will be imposed on the violators.
Important Advisory for Citizens: Sindh Police has urged citizens to immediately visit the official police portal to verify their vehicle status. If a vehicle is found on the blacklist, the owner must get the ownership transferred and clear all dues before the July 1 deadline to avoid legal action.
