KARACHI (May 7, 2026) – Sindh Minister for Local Government, Nasir Hussain Shah, chaired a high-level meeting on Thursday to review the progress of new and ongoing development projects across the province. The session was attended by Provincial Minister Arslan Islam Sheikh, Additional Chief Secretary Local Government Waseem Shamshad, and other senior officials.
During the meeting, the Minister emphasized that finishing ongoing infrastructure schemes is the government’s top priority to alleviate public grievances. He announced that the upcoming provincial budget for 2026-27 will prioritize funding for existing projects to ensure their swift completion. Following the vision of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the Minister reiterated the commitment to providing relief and basic facilities directly to the doorsteps of the citizens.
A significant proposal discussed during the meeting involved strengthening the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB) at the Union Council (UC) and Town levels. Nasir Hussain Shah stated that the government is considering decentralizing waste management to ensure better monitoring and efficiency at the grassroots level.
The meeting was briefed that several projects, including flyovers, underpasses, main arteries, and internal roads, are now in the final stages of completion. The Minister concluded by expressing confidence that once these projects are operational, the public will witness a visible and positive transformation in the province’s infrastructure and overall environment.
