KARACHI – In a decisive move to uphold building codes and curb unauthorized urban sprawl, the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has initiated the demolition of an illegal penthouse in the city’s South District. The operation specifically targeted Plot No. 11/10, Block 09, Scheme 02, Clifton, where developers had violated the approved building plan.
While the building was officially sanctioned for Ground + 8 floors, an unauthorized 9th-floor penthouse had been constructed. SBCA teams arrived on-site to dismantle the structure and are also cutting down the supporting columns to ensure the illegal portion cannot be rebuilt.
According to officials, this action is part of a broader campaign to ensure strict adherence to building bylaws across Karachi. The SBCA has reiterated its commitment to eliminating illegal constructions and warned that operations against violators will continue without discrimination across the city.
