KARACHI: In a major joint operation based on intelligence, the Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) and the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested three highly wanted facilitators belonging to the extremist group ‘Fitna-ul-Hindustan’ from the Chakra Goth area of Korangi.
According to a spokesperson for the Sindh Rangers, the apprehended suspects have been identified as Yasir Arafat, Khuda Bux, and Zahid Hussain (alias Barahzai). Law enforcement agencies recovered a significant cache of terror-related items from their possession, including 5 kg of explosives, 10 meters of Prima card, 3 detonators, 1 kg of ball bearings, a laptop, and 250 boxes of extremist literature.
Investigations reveal that the suspects were actively involved in brainwashing students from various colleges and universities to recruit them for the outlawed organization. They were also responsible for the distribution of extremist literature among the youth. The suspects had stored the explosives at a secret hideout, planning to target sensitive locations across Karachi. The arrested individuals, along with the recovered materials, have been handed over to the police for further legal proceedings.
The Rangers have urged citizens to play their part in crime prevention. Information regarding suspicious activities can be reported to the Rangers Helpline 1101, WhatsApp Support 0347-9001111, or the nearest Rangers Checkpost.
