Bilawal Bhutto: The System Was Sabotaged Not Failed

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari stated during a public gathering in Bagh, Azad Kashmir, that the political system did not fail organically, but was deliberately made to fail. He criticized the frequent violations of the constitution, emphasizing that addressing the root causes of the nation’s problems is being ignored.

Regarding political dynamics, Bilawal dismissed PML-N’s aspirations of forming a government in Muzaffarabad, predicting instead that the federal government in Islamabad is on borrowed time as its countdown has begun. He clarified that current political tensions are not merely between PPP and PML-N, but stem from a faction within PML-N trying to create rifts between the Prime Minister and allied parties. On governance and new provinces, he reiterated that PPP will support the creation of new administrative provinces only if it is the genuine mandate of the people.

Addressing the Kashmir crisis, he highlighted the unprecedented hardships—including prolonged internet blackouts and road closures lasting up to 50 days—stressing that ordinary citizens and business owners are suffering the most. Advocating for negotiated settlements, he noted that the Azad Kashmir Assembly has passed a resolution to establish a Truth and Reconciliation Commission, and urged all protesting factions and authorities to halt demonstrations and legal actions until the commission is officially formed.
