KARACHI: The Sindh School Education Department has officially issued a new circular outlining revised operational hours for all public schools across the province, effective August 6, 2026. These schedules apply to single and double-shift institutions—covering primary, elementary, secondary, and higher secondary levels—and will remain in place until further notice, introducing seasonal adjustments to optimize teaching hours throughout the academic year.
Key Highlights of the New Schedule
Single-Shift Primary Schools: From August 6 to October 31, these schools will operate Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM, and on Fridays from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. From November 1 to March 31, the timings will shift to 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
Double-Shift Schools (Elementary, Secondary & Higher Secondary – First Shift): For the period between August 6 and October 31, the first shift will run from 7:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Moving into the winter schedule from November 1 to March 31, the first shift will operate from 8:00 AM to 1:45 PM.
