KARACHI: The Sindh government has officially announced the implementation of the Sindh Sports Policy 2026 under the banner “Khel Sab Kay Liye” (Sports for All) following provincial cabinet approval. Unveiled by Secretary of Sports and Youth Affairs Sindh, Munawar Ali Mahesar, the policy provides a comprehensive framework to revolutionize the province’s sports ecosystem. To nurture new talent, a district-level talent hunt program will target children aged 7 to 15, backed by multi-purpose sports complexes, academies, and sports cities across every division, alongside the mandatory integration of physical education in academic institutions and the establishment of advanced sports science centers, biomechanics laboratories, and anti-doping systems. To secure athletes’ futures, the framework introduces monthly stipends, educational scholarships, insurance, and job security via an “Honor Player Policy,” while promoting women, differently-abled athletes, and e-sports alongside traditional disciplines. Furthermore, governance is being modernized through strict transparency audits, mandatory registration of private clubs, and reforms within the Sindh Sports Board—chaired by the Chief Minister—with an ultimate vision to elevate the region’s athletic standards by 2040 through strategic initiatives like upcoming sports exchange programs with Japan.
