KARACHI: The Government of Sindh has significantly expanded the administrative powers of Deputy Commissioners (DCs) across the province, officially appointing them as Administrators for their respective districts with immediate effect. Spearheaded by the Sindh Department of Minority Affairs through an official notification, this decision is aimed at ensuring the robust protection, regulation, and management of Evacuee Trust Properties. Under the new directive, Deputy Commissioners are officially designated as district administrators responsible for overseeing commercial, agricultural, and religious properties. DCs will personally supervise and regulate evacuee trust properties within their jurisdictions to prevent encroachment or mismanagement. To streamline these operations, the Deputy Commissioners are authorized to form dedicated district-level committees for the efficient management of these assets, with the new directives taking effect immediately across the province.
