KARACHI: The Sindh government has announced the expansion of the People’s Bus Service to provide modern and affordable transport facilities for the residents of Larkana, Qambar, and Shahdadkot. During a high-level transport department meeting chaired by Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, it was decided that the new bus service connecting Larkana to Shahdadkot via Qambar will officially commence operations on September 18. The meeting also reviewed ongoing mass transit projects, highlighting that daily ridership for the Green Line BRT has reached 88,000, while the Orange Line BRT now serves over 11,000 commuters daily. Furthermore, preparations are underway for the distribution of Pink Scooties to eligible women in Mirpurkhas, reinforcing the government’s commitment to safe and accessible travel for women. To enhance urban mobility further, authorities were directed to promptly finalize routes for upcoming additions, including double-decker buses and more Electric Vehicle (EV) buses across the province.
