KARACHI: Senior Sindh Minister Saeed Ghani has firmly declared that the province will operate under a single unified government, featuring one chief minister, one governor, one cabinet, and one assembly, leaving no room for any alternative arrangements. Addressing the media outside the Sindh Assembly, he launched a sharp critique against Jamaat-e-Islami, accusing the party of stoking hatred, resorting to arson, and attempting to become the new MQM in Karachi through tactics he termed as political terrorism. Ghani emphasized that while discussions on expanding administrative units like divisions, districts, or tehsils are entirely welcome, any covert attempts to partition Sindh or introduce multiple chief executives under the guise of administrative restructuring will face absolute resistance.
Highlighting the political dynamics within the legislature, Ghani noted that the Pakistan Peoples Party holds a commanding two-thirds majority in the Sindh Assembly, which has historically passed multiple resolutions against the division of the province. He warned that upcoming assembly debates and voting on the matter will unmask various political figures and effectively spell the end of their political careers in Sindh. Reaffirming the PPP’s steadfast commitment to safeguarding provincial rights, Ghani credited his party as the primary democratic bulwark against separatist and nationalist elements, praising the people of Sindh for consistently rejecting divisive agendas at the ballot box.
