KARACHI: The Sindh government has announced a major expansion of public transport networks across the province, led by Senior Minister for Transport Sharjeel Inam Memon. Key developments include the imminent launch of the People’s Bus Service on the Qambar Shahdadkot-Larkana route—with buses already on-site—alongside the finalization of operational plans for new double-decker bus services and electric vehicle (EV) taxis.
To promote women’s mobility and empowerment, the province is rolling out its Pink Scooties initiative, with distribution scheduled to begin in Mirpurkhas. Additionally, the administration is accelerating ongoing Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) projects and pushing for inter-departmental coordination to deliver a modern, safe, and eco-friendly transit infrastructure across Sindh.
