KARACHI: A weather system originating from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea is currently bringing moist winds and a western disturbance to Pakistan’s upper regions. While upper Sindh districts—including Sukkur, Larkana, and Dadu—are expected to experience thunderstorms and gusty winds on July 8 and 9, Karachi will face a temporary spike in temperature and humidity over the next 48 hours. Deputy Director of the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), Anjum Nazir Zaigham, confirmed that a low-pressure system over India will cause winds in Karachi to slow down, making the weather muggier on Tuesday and Wednesday night. However, he clarified that winds will not shut down completely and no immediate rainfall is expected in the metropolis, though the coastal areas may experience light drizzle under partly cloudy skies before weather conditions normalize.
