KARACHI: Pakistan has officially announced its 15-member men’s cricket squad for the upcoming Asian Games 2026. Experienced top-order batter Sahibzada Farhan has been appointed to lead the side, while Abdul Samad will serve as his vice-captain.
The Men’s T20 International event at the Asian Games is scheduled to take place from September 24 to October 3 in Aichi, Japan, where the teams will battle it out for the ultimate podium finish.
Squad Highlights & Debutants
The 30-year-old skipper, Sahibzada Farhan, brings immense stability to the side, boasting a record of 1,305 runs across 46 T20Is for Pakistan, which includes two centuries and 10 half-centuries.
The selection committee has also infused fresh talent into the lineup. Four uncapped players are set to make their mark at the international T20 level: Akif Javed, Ali Raza, Maaz Sadaqat, and Saad Masood.
Preparation and Venue Details
To gear up for the mega event, 14 out of the 15 selected squad members will join the National Cricket Academy (NCA) white-ball training camp in Lahore, kicking off on June 15.
The entire men’s cricket tournament of the Asian Games 2026 will be hosted at the Kurogi Athletic Park, located in the Aichi Prefecture of Japan.
