KARACHI – In a major blow to maritime smuggling, the Pakistan Navy, Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA), and the Balochistan Excise, Taxation & Anti-Narcotics Department (South Zone) have successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle a massive consignment of foreign liquor near the Gadani coast.
According to official sources, the joint intelligence-based operation was launched following actionable and precise data provided by the Joint Maritime Information Coordination Center (JMICC).
The Operation
Smugglers were attempting to transport the large shipment of high-value foreign alcohol into Pakistan via sea routes from international destinations. Acting swiftly on the intelligence grid, security forces intercepted the vessel, successfully thwarting the smuggling attempt and confiscating contraband worth millions of rupees.
Legal Action and Agency Collaboration
In accordance with national laws and standard operating procedures, the seized liquor has been handed over to the Balochistan Excise, Taxation & Anti-Narcotics Department (South Zone) for further investigation and legal proceedings.
“This successful operation is a testament to the seamless coordination, effective communication, and robust joint strategy among our law enforcement and maritime agencies,” a spokesperson stated.
