Sindh Government Accelerates Yellow Line BRT Project to Ensure Timely Completion

KARACHI: The Government of Sindh has directed relevant authorities to accelerate construction work on the Yellow Line BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) project to ensure its timely completion. This directive was issued during a high-level transport department meeting chaired by Senior Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, with key officials such as Transport Secretary Asad Zamin and Project Director Kamal Dayo in attendance, where they confirmed that construction is progressing as planned and project depots are expected to be completed by the first quarter of next year. To maintain the project’s momentum, Minister Sharjeel Memon ordered the immediate and prioritized relocation of all utilities to prevent delays, instructed all relevant departments to work closely together to swiftly resolve operational bottlenecks, and emphasized the urgent completion of the second section of the Taj Haider Bridge to minimize public inconvenience. Reaffirming that the Yellow Line BRT is a vital public transit initiative for Karachi, he concluded that its timely delivery remains a top priority for the Sindh government.
