KARACHI: Under the reform agenda of the Prime Minister’s Task Force, significant strides are being made to enhance Pakistan’s railway and port infrastructure to streamline cargo transportation. As part of the Karachi Port Trust (KPT) and Pipri Railway Link revival project, a 52-kilometer dedicated dual-track railway line is set to be constructed. The project encompasses extensive infrastructure development, including the construction of 25 major railway and road bridges, alongside 6 flyovers and grade separators. To ensure maximum safety and operational efficiency, it features 100% perimeter fencing, comprehensive security measures, and a modern centralized automated signaling system. Furthermore, a 1.5-kilometer dedicated rail link will seamlessly connect the logistics park to both Karachi Port and Port Qasim, allowing containers to be transported via rail from the ports to the logistics park before being loaded onto trailers for up-country dispatch.
