Renowned actress Aymen Saleem, daughter of former Pakistani cricketer Salim Yousuf, has officially entered the political arena by joining the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). The formal announcement was made during a joint press conference in Karachi alongside PPP Sindh President Nisar Khuhro. Reflecting on her decision, Aymen shared that her political journey is deeply inspired by the enduring legacy of the late Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, who instilled in her from a young age the belief that a woman’s ambition should never be constrained by her gender.
Emphasizing her vision for public life, Aymen stated that her transition into politics is rooted in a selfless commitment to serve the nation and its people using the public platform available to her. She also expressed full confidence in the party’s top leadership, including President Asif Ali Zardari, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and senior leader Faryal Talpur. Welcoming her into the party fold, Nisar Khuhro expressed his delight at her decision and lauded her willingness to contribute actively to the country’s political landscape.
