KARACHI: In a major cybercrime crackdown, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Karachi Zone executed a raid in Rabia City, arresting 42 individuals involved in deceptive social media practices, online fraud, and the creation and sale of sexually explicit digital animations aimed at foreign clients. The operation targeted three distinct entities that operated under the guise of legitimate digital marketing, graphic design, and animation agencies. During the raid, law enforcement officials detained company executives and employees while confiscating 41 mobile phones to undergo detailed digital forensic analysis.
The investigation reveals that these companies relied on organized networks of online agents who utilized fake personas—frequently posing as female representatives—on social media platforms such as Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) to attract international clientele. While offering standard design services like logos, banners, and digital illustrations, they simultaneously promoted and distributed illicit explicit animations, misrepresenting their identities to secure client orders from overseas.
The three entities involved varied in size and operational scale. The first company, owned by Fida Hussain, had been operating for nearly two years providing international digital artwork services, resulting in the confiscation of 19 mobile phones. The second agency, allegedly owned by Danish, operated with a four-member team focused on logo and banner design, from which five mobile phones were seized. The third company, managed by Mohsin and Ehsan, comprised a 17-member team handling digital design and media sales abroad, leading to the recovery of 17 mobile devices.
NCCIA forensic specialists are actively reviewing the seized devices, electronic communications, and digital content to assess the full scope of these illegal activities. Investigators are working to establish individual responsibilities, verify offences under applicable Pakistani cyber law, and determine the extent of identity fraud and illegal transactions conducted with foreign clients.
