KARACHI: Sindh Police and the Transport Department have agreed to intensify collaborative efforts to ensure a secure travel environment and eliminate harassment in public transport. Authorities focused on making CCTV surveillance in buses more effective for real-time monitoring, deterring crime, and swiftly identifying suspects with concrete evidence. To support this, steps are actively being taken to grant more authority to specialized women’s safety cells, ensuring prompt action and hassle-free grievance redressal for victims. Furthermore, a province-wide awareness campaign will be launched featuring anti-harassment posters across all public transport vehicles in Sindh, detailing legal recourses and complaint procedures for commuters.
