KARACHI: The Sindh government and Zong CMPak have agreed to establish an AI-Ready Tier-III Data Center in Karachi under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, aimed at transforming the city into a regional hub for technology, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence. To kickstart this strategic vision, Zong has announced an initial investment of over PKR 4 billion, backed by an additional PKR 14 billion planned over the next decade to bring the total long-term commitment to PKR 18 billion. Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah, emphasized that the initiative will significantly boost local data hosting, cloud computing capabilities, and digital sovereignty. Furthermore, the provincial government has assured full facilitation and cooperation to streamline infrastructure development and ensure seamless execution. Ultimately, this milestone project aligns seamlessly with the broader “Digital Pakistan” vision and CPEC objectives, promising to empower youth, drive IT growth, and anchor future economic development in advanced technologies.
