Tech Revolution in Sindh’s Exams: Global Standards & Digitalization on the Horizon

KARACHI: The Government of Sindh is set to completely overhaul its examination system across all educational boards under the Sindh Secondary Education Improvement Project, transitioning from traditional methods to a global-standard digital framework. In a high-profile meeting chaired by the Minister for Universities and Boards, Muhammad Ismail Rahoo, and attended by representatives of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) alongside top provincial educational officials, plans were finalized to introduce a modern e-marking system. This technological transformation will equip all intermediate, secondary, and technical boards with advanced hardware—including scanners, servers, and cutting machines—while IT experts will provide specialized training to enhance the institutional capacity of the board personnel. To ensure a smooth transition, Chairman of the Intermediate Board Karachi, Fakhar Muhammad Lakho, has been nominated as the focal person for the project. Moving forward, the comprehensive proposal will be presented to the Sindh Cabinet for final approval, after which the project will be executed on a fast-track basis to ensure absolute merit, transparency, and efficiency in the province’s governance and examination systems.
