KARACHI: Academic activities at Government Abdullah Girls College were abruptly suspended following severe power outages that caused extreme humidity and heat, leading multiple students to faint on campus.
According to faculty members, the ongoing lack of electricity has made it impossible to continue normal classes, severely disrupting routine operations and causing immense distress to both students and teachers. Staff members noted that similar disruptions occurred yesterday, and with power suspensions persisting today, classes had to be called off entirely.
In response to the crisis, Professor Munawar Abbas, Central President of the Sindh Professors and Lecturers Association (SPLA), led a delegation to visit the college. He strongly urged the Provincial Ministers for Education and Universities & Boards to intervene immediately to resolve the power crisis and ensure a safe learning environment.
