KARACHI: To mark the first anniversary of the historic success in Maarka-e-Haq, the Government of Sindh organized a prestigious commemorative ceremony at a local hotel in Karachi. The event was attended by Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Senior Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, members of the assembly, and high-ranking civil and military officials.
A Golden Chapter in History
Addressing the ceremony, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari termed Maarka-e-Haq as a golden chapter in Pakistan’s history. He stated that the nation delivered a humiliating defeat to India through exemplary unity. He noted that this was a victory of solidarity where every Pakistani played their part. The enemy believed Pakistan could be broken or defeated, but they were unaware of the nation’s true potential and resilience.
Bilawal Bhutto further emphasized that the victory was not just about weaponry but about the determination of a nation that refused to bow down. From the northern mountains to the shores of the Arabian Sea, and from the fields of Punjab to the deserts of Sindh and Balochistan, the entire country stood as one. He praised the armed forces for defending the motherland with courage, discipline, and dignity.
Defense and Diplomacy
Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah, recalled the events of a year ago, stating that India’s aggression was met with a swift and decisive response within hours. He highlighted that while Pakistan is a peace-loving nation that does not seek war, it did not hesitate to down Indian aircraft and drones. He also criticized the Indian media for spreading propaganda regarding Karachi Port, noting that the Pakistan Navy remained vigilant and ready to thwart any misadventure by the neighbor.
Legacy of Strength
Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon praised the Armed Forces for sending a clear message to the world that Pakistan is a powerful state. He credited the nation’s strategic strength to the leadership of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, who made Pakistan a nuclear power, and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, who laid the foundation for missile technology. He added that the entire nation stands firmly with the armed forces. The ceremony commenced with a recitation from the Holy Quran and featured a documentary showcasing the strategic success of Maarka-e-Haq.
