The Karachi Police Department has initiated strict disciplinary action against police personnel residing in the Garden Police Lines for failing to pay their electricity bills, which have accumulated to millions of rupees. Following a report by the SP Headquarters South, the Additional AIG Karachi took strict notice of the situation and ordered immediate, practical measures against the defaulters. As a direct consequence of this severe policy violation, the department has officially cancelled the accommodation allotments of 19 police personnel, including constables, head constables, and ASIs. These officers have been directed to immediately vacate their Garden quarters and hand them over to the Estate Management Branch.
To ensure the recovery of the massive outstanding dues, the department has also decided to implement direct salary deductions from the monthly pay of the defaulting officers. Senior authorities have strongly emphasized that the law is equal for everyone, and the misuse of government property or non-payment of utility bills will not be tolerated under any circumstances. They reiterated that any official who fails to comply with the rules will permanently lose the privilege of government accommodation.
