KARACHI: In a major move to address public grievances, the Sindh government has officially activated the Public Complaint Cell at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Karachi. The initiative aims to provide direct access to the provincial leadership, ensuring that citizens’ issues are heard and resolved without bureaucratic delays.
Key Highlights of the Initiative
For the first time, a dedicated roster has been issued where provincial ministers, advisors, and spokespersons will be present to hear complaints in person. The cell will remain functional from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM every working day. Senior officials including Senior Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Saeed Ghani, and Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho are assigned specific days for duty. The Mayor of Karachi along with various government spokespersons will also be part of the roster to ensure comprehensive coverage of city-wide and provincial issues.
Monitoring and Implementation
To ensure this isn’t just a symbolic gesture, the Sindh government has introduced a monitoring system to track the progress of every complaint filed. This “open-door policy” at the CM Secretariat is designed to bridge the gap between the public and the government, providing a streamlined platform for immediate relief. According to government officials, this step is part of a broader strategy to improve governance and accountability across the province, making the administration more responsive to the needs of the common man.
