Sindh Government Announces Eid-ul-Fitr Holidays, Notification Issued

KARACHI: The Government of Sindh has officially announced the holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr 2026. A formal notification was issued by the Chief Secretary of Sindh, Asif Hyder Shah, confirming the dates for the festive break.

Holiday Schedule: Eid-ul-Fitr Holidays: Friday, March 20, and Saturday, March 21. Weekend: Sunday, March 22 (Standard weekly off). Pakistan Day: Monday, March 23 (Public Holiday).

According to the notification, provincial government offices and institutions will remain closed on March 20 and 21. Since the Sindh government had already declared a public holiday for March 23 (Pakistan Day), residents will enjoy an extended long weekend.

Alignment with Federal Government: This announcement follows the Federal Government’s decision to grant a two-day holiday for Eid. With the addition of the Sunday break and the Pakistan Day holiday on Monday, citizens across the province will have a continuous four-day break from March 20 to March 23.
