KARACHI: Relations between the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) have hit a notable rough patch, according to senior PPP leader and former lawmaker Shehla Raza. Appearing on the ARY News program Aitraz Hai, Raza stated that political dynamics and communications between the two allied parties no longer share the same cooperative footing, noting that following three rounds of formal talks, the political atmosphere has grown increasingly strained. She explicitly accused the PML-N of foul play during the Gilgit-Baltistan elections, alleging extreme dishonesty that tragically resulted in the deaths of two PPP workers, while also condemning the PML-N leadership for launching verbal attacks against PPP leadership.
Representing the PML-N in the same program, Barrister Danial Chaudhary defended his party’s stance by emphasizing governance and national stability. Chaudhary maintained that the PML-N took the reins during a severe crisis and worked tirelessly to stabilize the country. He assured that his party aims to address the PPP’s grievances and move forward collaboratively, including efforts to establish a strong government in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Furthermore, Chaudhary acknowledged that the PML-N maintains communication channels with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), reiterating a willingness to resolve political differences through mutual reconciliation.
