KARACHI: The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) conducted a major late-night operation against illegal constructions in the Mehmoodabad area of District East.
Action on Official Orders According to officials, the operation was initiated following direct instructions from the Provincial Minister for Local Government, Nasir Hussain Shah. The crackdown targeted a building being constructed without the mandatory permits or No Objection Certificates (NOC) from the SBCA.
Operational Details The operation was supported by the District East Police and the local administration to ensure security and order. Heavy machinery was deployed to demolish the unauthorized structures during the late-night raid.
Zero Tolerance Policy The Director General (DG) of SBCA issued a stern warning, stating that illegal constructions will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He emphasized that strict legal measures will be taken against elements involved in unauthorized building activities. Furthermore, departmental action will be initiated against any SBCA officer found guilty of negligence or collusion with the illegal builders.
Ongoing Crackdown Authority officials confirmed that the drive against illegal mapping and unauthorized buildings will continue across the city to restore urban planning standards.
