Rs 300 Million Cash Van Heist in Karachi: Inside Involvement Suspected

KARACHI – In a meticulously planned multimillion-rupee heist, armed robbers allegedly plundered Rs 300 million from a security company’s cash van in the Federal B Area of Karachi. Initial police investigations have raised serious suspicions regarding the role of the security company’s chief crew member, Wajid.

The Plot Unfolds

According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Central, Dr. Imran Khan, the cash van had departed from Tariq Road to deliver money to a private bank. The heist took place near Rizwan Park, where the crew made a stop to drink tea. Taking advantage of the pause, four armed suspects intercepted the van and took complete control of the vehicle.

The suspects drove the cash van to a nearby alley, famously known as Altaf Pakwan Wali Gali. There, they quickly transferred the bags of cash into a getaway car. Investigators revealed that the suspects had parked their getaway vehicle in a back alley prior to the heist and approached the cash van on foot, indicating a well-rehearsed plan.

Inside Job Suspected

The probe has taken a sharp turn toward internal collusion. SSP Central Dr. Imran Khan confirmed that preliminary evidence heavily implicates the security company’s chief crew member, Wajid.

“Wajid took the cash cabin keys from the security guards and allegedly provided the robbers with direct access to the money. Following the robbery, Wajid fled the scene alongside the suspects,” the SSP stated.

High-Level Investigation Underway

Upon receiving the alert, Joharabad Police rushed to the crime scene to secure evidence. SSP Central inspected the location and formed specialized teams to track down the culprits. Law enforcement agencies are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding areas to trace the escape route of the suspects.

Sindh Home Minister Takes Notice

Taking strict notice of the high-profile robbery, Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar has demanded an immediate and detailed report from SSP Central.

The Home Minister has directed the police to utilize all available resources, including CCTV footages and forensic evidence, to ensure the swift arrest of Wajid and his accomplices, vowing that they will be brought to justice without delay.
