KARACHI: The fourth edition of the bilateral naval exercise ‘Sea Guardian-4’ between Pakistan and China concluded in Karachi, aimed at enhancing maritime cooperation and operational synergy between the two navies. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the exercise was conducted from March 25 to April 1, featuring a five-day harbor phase at the Karachi Port and a two-day sea phase in the North Arabian Sea.
The harbor phase commenced with Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) Taimur welcoming the PLA Navy ship Daqing, followed by high-level delegation exchanges and visits to naval installations. In a significant addition, the first-ever Young Officers’ Seminar was held to facilitate professional discussions on emerging maritime challenges.
The sea phase included complex maneuvers such as air defense exercises against multi-domain threats, coordinated operations with Pakistan Navy submarines, conventional warfare drills, and live gunnery firing. These activities were designed to strengthen operational and tactical interoperability between the two forces.
The exercise culminated with a joint patrol in the Arabian Sea. According to the ISPR, both navies reaffirmed their shared commitment to maintaining regional maritime security and stability in the strategic waters of the region.
