KARACHI: During a visit to the Sindh Institute of Animal Health (SIAH) in Korangi, Karachi, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah addressed key political developments and highlighted his government’s focus on modernizing the livestock sector. Addressing inquiries regarding new administrative units, CM Murad Ali Shah challenged political opponents to table a resolution in the provincial assembly, noting that the Sindh Assembly has historically opposed the creation of new provinces through six previous resolutions, while emphasizing that strengthening local governments remains his administration’s core manifesto. He also expressed deep grief over a tragic incident at PIMS Hospital, acknowledging the ongoing need to upgrade provincial medical institutes. Earlier, the Chief Minister toured the newly upgraded Pet Hospital, inspecting state-of-the-art diagnostic bays, intensive care units, and modern laboratories designed to enhance animal health, disease surveillance, and food safety standards. Highlighting livestock as a vital pillar of Sindh’s economy and a crucial livelihood source for millions, CM Shah reiterated his commitment to boosting farmers’ incomes, promoting climate-resilient farming, and transforming SIAH into a premier national center for veterinary education and research.
