KARACHI – The Acting Emir of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi, Saifuddin Advocate, has alleged that Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan’s (MQM-P) central office in Bahadurabad is constructed on encroached land. Speaking at a press conference at Idara Noor-e-Haq, Saifuddin Advocate criticized MQM-P leaders Farooq Sattar and Waseem Akhtar for their recent statements regarding land grabbing at Hill Park, pointing out the irony in their allegations.
Key Highlights of the Press Conference
Saifuddin Advocate claimed that MQM-P’s main headquarters in Bahadurabad was built illegally by blocking and occupying a pathway between two buildings. He stated that the issue of land encroachment at Hill Park was originally raised by a JI Union Council (UC) Chairman, dismissing MQM-P’s attempts to take credit for it. The JI leader also lashed out at Farooq Sattar, stating that he was a key figure in the party during Karachi’s violent eras, and accused him of now conveniently shifting all blame onto Altaf Hussain. Furthermore, Saifuddin countered MQM-P’s claims regarding the mega water project, clarifying that official records prove the K-Four project was initiated during Niamatullah Khan’s tenure as Mayor, not Mustafa Kamal’s.
Legal Action Against Encroachments
Saifuddin Advocate reminded the media that Jamaat-e-Islami had previously filed a detailed petition in the Supreme Court of Pakistan, complete with a list of lands allegedly occupied by MQM.
