KARACHI – In two separate operations across the city, the Karachi Police and Special Investigation Unit (SIU) have intensified their crackdown on organized crime, resulting in the arrest of a key Lyari gang war member and the killing of a wanted criminal.
SIU Arrests Lyari Gang War Operative The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) conducted a targeted raid in the Baghdadi area, leading to the arrest of Muhammad Sharif, a high-profile operative of the notorious Kashif Dada Group. According to police officials, Sharif was instrumental in managing the group’s network and was involved in various acts of sabotage across the city. During the arrest, law enforcement recovered one hand grenade and a 9mm pistol. The suspect has a prior criminal record with several cases registered against him in different police stations.
Encounter in Pak Colony Separately, a fierce exchange of fire took place near Old Golimar in the Pak Colony area of Keamari. Police engaged an “extremely wanted” criminal, identified as Amirullah alias Meero, who was killed during the shootout. Police officials confirmed that Meero was wanted for multiple heinous crimes, including armed robberies, theft, possession of illegal weapons, and firing upon police teams. Following the encounter, the police recovered a pistol and a motorcycle that had been recently snatched from the Zaman Town area. Investigations are ongoing to identify other accomplices associated with the suspects.
