KARACHI – In a significant legal development, Karachi Police have incorporated terrorism sections into the case involving the shooting of an FBR Inspector by the son of a former Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP).
Terrorism Charges Applied
Authorities confirmed that the decision to include anti-terrorism clauses against the primary suspect, Agha Shahir, was made due to the merciless and public use of firearms during a minor dispute. Police officials stated that the act of firing on a citizen in a public space created fear and terror, justifying the upgraded charges.
Crackdown on Facilitators
A targeted operation to apprehend the absconding suspect has led to the arrest of three facilitators who allegedly assisted Agha Shahir in evading the law. Mazhar Ali was arrested in Karachi for allegedly helping the suspect flee to Shikarpur, while Agha Tahir Khan and Agha Musaddiq Khan were apprehended in Shikarpur for providing sanctuary and hiding the suspect’s vehicle at their farmhouse.
Current Status
The two suspects arrested in Shikarpur are being shifted to Karachi for further legal proceedings. While the facilitators are in custody, police teams are continuing raids to capture the main accused, Agha Shahir.
