Karachi: Roads Leading to US Consulate Remain Blocked for Fourth Consecutive Day

KARACHI: Security measures around the US Consulate in Karachi have been further intensified due to heightened security concerns. For the fourth day running, key routes leading to the consulate remain closed to the public, with a heavy deployment of police and Rangers personnel ensuring a strict security perimeter.

Traffic Status and Road Closures According to Traffic Police officials, several strategic points remain obstructed. The road from PIDC Chowk leading towards Sultanabad via M.T. Khan Road is completely blocked with containers. Similarly, access from Tower towards the Mai Kolachi bypass remains suspended. In a slight relief, the track from Boat Basin to Mai Kolachi has been opened specifically for light vehicles.

City-wide Impact Despite the localized closures, authorities have confirmed that traffic flow on the city’s main arteries, including Shahrah-e-Faisal and M.A. Jinnah Road, remains normal and unaffected by the consulate’s security protocols.
