In anticipation of heavy thunderstorms and dust storms predicted by the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has issued a high alert across various departments at Jinnah International Airport. To ensure safety and maintain seamless flight operations during this adverse weather, the authority has mandated comprehensive precautionary measures. These steps include moving all parked fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft on the apron and tarmac to secure locations, securing loose ground equipment, and conducting thorough inspections of electrical installations and cabling. Additionally, instructions have been given to ensure that “Follow Me” vehicles remain fully operational and that all airfield lights and pits are completely serviceable. All relevant departments have been directed to closely monitor the weather situation and strictly adhere to safety protocols to prevent any disruptions to aviation operations.
