Karachi Exams: Police Launch Grand Operation Against Paper Leak Mafia, 4 Kingpins Arrested

KARACHI – In a major crackdown against the “cheating mafia” during the ongoing matriculation examinations, Karachi Police have arrested four key ringleaders involved in organized paper leaks and cheating syndicates. Following the directives of Additional IG Karachi Azad Khan, the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) conducted technical and targeted raids across the city to dismantle networks undermining the integrity of the provincial exams.

The Crackdown

According to DIG CIA Muqadas Haider, the operation led to the arrest of four gang leaders from various locations, including Malir, Surjani Town, New Karachi, and Gulshan-e-Iqbal. The arrested suspects have been identified as Mubeen Khan (the alleged mastermind), Osama, Bilal, and Abdul Razzaq.

Modus Operandi

Police investigations revealed that these groups were charging students hundreds of thousands of rupees in exchange for “guaranteed” leaked papers. The illicit payments were collected through various online banking channels to avoid detection. The CIA estimates that approximately 8 to 10 organized groups are currently active in Karachi, with the group led by Mubeen Khan considered the primary hub of this activity.

Key Findings

The investigation uncovered that Mubeen Khan allegedly managed 13 digital groups on social media and messaging apps with an estimated membership of 13,000 students. Ironically, the mastermind is himself a final-year Cyber Security student at Sindh Madressatul Islam University, while another arrested suspect is currently an Intermediate student.

Zero Tolerance Policy

The CIA is currently interrogating the suspects to trace further links within the education board or local schools. DIG Muqadas Haider reaffirmed that the operation will continue until the entire network is dismantled, stating that no individual involved in the cheating mafia will be spared.
