KARACHI: In a series of targeted operations, Karachi Police and Sindh Rangers have apprehended seven suspects, including key members of the notorious “Rickshaw Gang” and “Aamri Gang,” involved in street crimes and robberies across the city.

Rickshaw Gang Apprehended in Boat Basin

The Boat Basin Police, during a routine patrol, arrested two members of a gang that used a rickshaw as a cover for criminal activities. According to the South SSP spokesperson, the suspects have been identified as Shah Mir Khan and Salman. Police recovered a 9mm pistol with ammunition and the rickshaw used in crimes. The suspects’ modus operandi involved luring citizens into the rickshaw as passengers and then robbing them at gunpoint. Records show they have a prior history of criminal involvement.

Action Against Illegal Arms and Tenancy Violations

Saddar Police arrested three individuals during separate raids. A suspect named Mohammad Imran was arrested for the public display of weapons, with a 9mm pistol and 10 rounds recovered from his possession. Additionally, two others, Mohammad Awais and Mohammad Ismail, were taken into custody for violating the Temporary Residence (Tenancy) Act. Cases have been registered against all three at the Saddar Police Station.

Rangers Bust ‘Aamri Gang’ Members

In a separate intelligence-based operation, Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) raided the Steel Town area and arrested two members of the “Aamri Gang.” The suspects, identified as Ali Mohammad and Wajid Ali (alias Waja), were active in Steel Town, Gulshan-e-Hadeed, and adjoining areas. The Rangers recovered a motorcycle without documentation, a mobile phone, and cash. The duo confessed to multiple counts of snatching motorbikes, phones, and cash at gunpoint along with their accomplices.
