KARACHI: In a significant move for pilgrims, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed authorities to prepare a feasibility study for a ferry service operating from Karachi to Iraq. According to details, the Interior Minister highlighted that the introduction of a ferry service would greatly facilitate pilgrims traveling to Iraq, providing a more accessible and potentially cost-effective travel alternative.
Visit to Coast Guards Headquarters
During his visit to Karachi, Mohsin Naqvi also visited the Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG) Headquarters. He paid tribute to the martyrs by laying a floral wreath at the Yadgar-e-Shuhada and offered prayers.
Crackdown on Smuggling
The Minister issued stern directives to intensify operations against drug trafficking and smuggling. He ordered the full utilization of resources to dismantle the smuggling mafia, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy. Furthermore, he praised the Pakistan Coast Guards for their unique capability to perform duties effectively on both land and sea, noting that strengthening maritime borders remains a top priority to safeguard the country’s economic and territorial interests.
