KARACHI: The Board of Management of Pakistan State Oil (PSO) has officially appointed Jawad Ahmed Cheema as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). According to the official announcement, Mr. Cheema will assume his responsibilities on May 18, 2026. His appointment has been approved for a period of three years, and he will succeed the interim CEO, Abdul Samay.
A Wealth of Global Experience
Jawad Ahmed Cheema is a veteran of the energy sector with over 28 years of extensive experience. His career spans various leadership roles across Asia, Europe, and other international regions. Prior to this appointment, he served as the CEO of Shell Pakistan and held the position of Vice President for Strategy and Portfolio at Shell PLC. Most recently, he has been serving as the CEO of Karachi Hydrocarbon Terminal.
