KARACHI – The Judicial Commission, formed to investigate the recent fire tragedy at Gul Plaza, has officially decided to conduct an on-site inspection of the affected building. According to sources, the commission—headed by Justice Agha Faisal—will visit the premises on February 14. The primary objective of this visit is to personally assess the building’s condition and safety measures before summoning government officials for formal questioning.
During the visit, the commission will conduct a thorough physical inspection of the building to evaluate its structural state following the fire. This includes a detailed review of entry and exit points, fire safety arrangements, and the overall effectiveness of the rescue operations. By gaining firsthand knowledge of the ground realities, the commission aims to ensure a transparent and informed investigation.
Following the site visit, the Judicial Commission is expected to issue formal notices to various departments. Key institutions, including the Fire Brigade, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA), and relevant rescue agencies, will be summoned to provide their records and statements regarding the incident.
