KARACHI: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration team at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi, has intercepted and offloaded a government employee attempting to travel to Kuwait using a suspicious and allegedly fake No Objection Certificate (NOC).
According to an FIA spokesperson, the passenger has been identified as Suresh Swami. He was attempting to board a flight on a Pakistani passport holding a Kuwaiti visit visa. During the immigration clearance process, he identified himself as a Junior Auditor at the Military Accountant General (MAG) Pakistan and presented a departmental NOC. However, upon close scrutiny by immigration officials, the contents and issuance details of the NOC raised severe red flags, pointing towards forgery.
The Investigation and Findings
During initial questioning on the spot, Swami made startling revelations regarding how he obtained the document.
“The passenger disclosed that the NOC was provided to him by a friend named Raees Gul, a resident of Karachi,” the FIA spokesperson stated.
Further investigation revealed that as a government servant, obtaining official departmental permission is mandatory for traveling abroad and securing a passport. However, the passenger failed to provide any legitimate or satisfactory evidence to justify his travel documentation.
Current Status
In light of the suspicious NOC, dubious procurement methods, and a blatant violation of government regulations, Suresh Swami was officially offloaded from his flight. The FIA has handed over the suspect to the FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Circle, Karachi, for thorough verification of the documents and further legal proceedings.
