KARACHI – In a major crackdown against the city’s entrenched land mafia, the Anti-Corruption Wing of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) successfully recovered state-owned property valued at approximately Rs 500 million (50 Crores). According to an FIA spokesperson, the operation targeted illegal encroachments on high-value land belonging to the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB). The operation specifically cleared illegal occupations within the Ghulam Hussain Qasim Quarters, a site that had been under the control of the mafia for several years.
During the raid, properties numbered GK-7/75 and GK-7/12 were fully recovered and handed back to the relevant authorities after years-old illegal structures and encroachments were demolished. The FIA confirmed that the land was occupied using forged and fraudulent documents, and the individuals involved in this forgery are currently under strict surveillance by the agency.
Zero Tolerance Policy
The FIA spokesperson emphasized that the net is tightening around elements involved in grabbing national assets.
“Illegal occupation of government property will not be tolerated under any circumstances. We are intensifying our operations against corruption, forgery, and the land mafia without any discrimination,” the spokesperson stated.
The agency maintains that further legal proceedings are underway to bring all responsible parties to justice as part of an ongoing crackdown on land grabbing across the city.
